Donald Paul Owens II writes poems for the page and for the pew —often with dirt on his boots and sawdust in his hair. His poetry has been published in Good Work Magazine, and his hymns and metrical Psalms can be found in Cantus Christi 2020, A Treasury of Psalms and Hymns, Saintly Praises, Sing a New Song, New Psalter, Pressing On: Shanties Reborn, and other collections. Donald lectures on poetry, writing, and metrical psalmody. Sometimes he is even asked to.
While feeding the wife of his youth, their eleven children, and his writing habit, Donald has sweated at many vocations including excavator, cabinetmaker, and pastor, always with a notebook in his pocket. He took classes at Lancaster Bible College, studied Hebrew at Redemption Seminary, and met his wife at Word of Life Bible Institute, though none of these institutions managed to pin a degree on him. He is currently working to remedy that at Southern New Hampshire University.
He is a member at Westminster Presbyterian Church, and lives in the forests of Pennsylvania with his wife, children, and a leopard gecko named Pickles.
