Donald Paul Owens II is a writer of poems for reading and poems for singing. His work has been published in Good Work Magazine, and his hymns and metrical Psalms can be found in Cantus Christi 2020, A Treasury of Psalms and Hymns, Saintly Praises, Sing a New Song, New Psalter, Pressing On: Shanties Reborn, and other collections. Donald has lectured on poetry, writing, and metrical psalmody, sometimes formally.
To support the wife of his youth, their eleven children and his writing habit, Donald has pursued many vocations including cabinetmaker, excavator, and pastor, and he has been taking notes. Although he took classes at Lancaster Bible College, studied Hebrew at Redemption Seminary, and met his wife at Word of Life Bible Institute, none of these institutions managed to pin a degree on him. He is currently working to remedy that at Southern New Hampshire University, while raising his family and operating his historic preservation carpentry firm. He is a member at Westminster Presbyterian Church, and lives in the forests of Pennsylvania with his wife, children, and a leopard gecko named Pickles.
